A hometown it HEROES E5 Chanon Romo This week's hometown hero is Sgt Chanon Romo. Romo attend Army boot camp at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, in 1989 then AIT training at Fort Bliss, Texas. Romo was deployed to Germany where he spent two years. While there, Romo saw the fall of the Berlin Wall. From there Romo was deployed in Saudi Arabia for Operation Desert Storm where he worked on a patriot missile systems as well as crosstrained in handheld STINGER. Romo went on to duty station Fort Lewis, Washington, and finally Team Spirit in Korea. Romo was an E5 Sergeant when he was honorably discharged in 1993.
